As a piano teacher, you will play an important role in our efforts to develop the Music School in Karlshamn.

Responsibilities

You will plan and conduct piano lessons and create a creative and stimulating learning environment both individually and in groups.

You will collaborate with the music school's teachers and other staff to develop and implement teaching that engages and challenges.

You recognize and utilize the group in learning and are curious about the development of teaching methods and approaches.

You promote creativity and development in both the group and the individual.

Key Responsibilities

•    To participate in the development of teaching methods based on the organization's common direction and vision.

•    To build relationships with students and guardians to support the student's development.

•    To contribute to a dynamic learning environment through collaboration with colleagues.

•    To participate in concerts and other outreach activities.

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for someone who is creative and inspiring with the ability to motivate and develop individuals, both individually and in groups.

You have a teaching degree from a music academy with piano as your main instrument, or equivalent education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience in pedagogical work with children and youth as well as good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Since we work throughout the municipality, a driver's license is required.

You have good pedagogical skills where you adapt your communication to the person in front of you. Experience working with children and youth with disabilities is an asset.

Experience teaching larger groups, such as piano studios, is also an advantage.

About the workplace Karlshamn Music School:

The mission of the music school is to offer instrumental and vocal instruction individually, in groups, or in ensembles for children and youth in preschool, primary school, or high school. The music school offers courses in singing, instrumental playing, rhythmics, and music creation. The goal is to provide both breadth and depth with low thresholds and high quality, allowing children and youth in Karlshamn to grow both musically and personally.

Information about the position

The position is a permanent employment, 80-100%.
Teaching takes place during daytime and evening hours, and weekend work is a recurring aspect of the music school's activities.
